His work focuses on high-stakes multilingual communication across fisheries policy, scientific research, and regulatory compliance. He translates complex technical and institutional content—including management frameworks, MCS documentation, certification standards, and scientific reports—ensuring accuracy, consistency, and operational relevance.

His academic background includes:

  • MAS in Marine Biodiversity & Conservation (Scripps Institution of Oceanography, USA)

  • MSc in Coastal Management (European Institute for Marine Studies, France)

  • PGDip in Applied Marine Sciences

  • BSc in Marine Sciences (Plymouth University, UK)

Before founding Ocean Environment, Gwendal gained extensive field and institutional experience as a fisheries observer and international project officer, working across Europe and West Africa. This hands-on background informs his work today, allowing him to combine linguistic precision with operational and policy insight.
